The Sword Red Bank Concert reviews
Ms. Hill was on time!!
The show started at 8 and we arrived at 8:45. Caught 4 or 5 songs from The Sword, he sounded great, looked great, very pleased. After he arrived, Lauryn's DJ played for roughly 30 minutes. He is such a great talent, all around. The band was too loud, and like others have commented, its hard to recognize the songs because the arrangements were changed so much. He is such a great talent, all around. After 4-5 songs, they stopped a moment to adjust the levels and sounded much better from then on. Love her voice, style, and energy. Killing Me Softly, Ready or Not, Sweetest Thing, Is This Love (Bob Marley), When it Hurts So Bad, some of my favorites. My biggest fear was that The Sword would keep us waiting. DJ was pretty good, but he could have skipped O.P.P and Hip Hop Hooray...anyway, everybody went nuts when Mos Def stepped on stage! Her performance got off to a rough start. Overall, I was glad for the opportunity to see her. Thanks for coming on time!
